Mr. Chip Yates, the guest speaker, has modified a Long-Ez aircraft with a Siemens electric engine and has been setting world records as part of his flight test program. The kicker is that he had to teach himself to fly, then understand flight-test and then started this endeavor with little to no funding. It’s interesting and innovative while encompassing an opportunity vs. risk philosophy. He has also invented Silent Arrow, a high-altitude, heavy payload Group 5 UAS. Information flyer attached.
